Enjoyable post. :)

On Prime is it? Marvellous, I was wondering how I'd get to watch at leisure without buying the thing. I've seen a couple of episodes and enjoyed them, so now's the time to really take the plunge..hopefully dragging my girlfriend with me as we wouldn't want it to come between us now, would we..
RiP Malcolm Marmorstein btw.
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/malcolm-marmorstein-screenwriter-on-dark-shadows-and-petes-dragon-dies-at-92

dee_seejay https://www.blogger.com/profile/09343731363959003167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2337899552459013100.post-87729419068632936022019-03-26T16:22:43.668-07:002019-03-26T16:22:43.668-07:00Absolutely hooked on Dark Shadows now it's on ...Absolutely hooked on Dark Shadows now it's on Amazon Prime in the UK. Frid and Parker are the only good Heathcliff and Catherine this side of Ken Hutchison and Kay Adshead. That slanderous slur aside (and, yes, i may be the lone DS fan who likes both that story arc and the Leviathans and i'm not even trying to be contrary), spot on.

It's brilliant, isn't it?Glen McCullahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10852390016175036244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2337899552459013100.post-57261399085713660102016-08-22T13:16:04.497-07:002016-08-22T13:16:04.497-07:00Curtis was indeed a creative lunatic. The Winds of War is his masterstroke, though, the making of that shows how insane he was - him and his then-production partner Barbara Steele (yes, that Barbara Steele) filming in three countries in a day, all over Europe and casting in AUstria, New York and LOndon all the same day and flying on Concorde to each place that day. He has that sort of insane carnival huckster thing that doesn't come from the traditional studio circuit thing. It comes from B-movies and weird TV.
He had the ambition to fly Howard "An Unearthly Child" Lang and Ralph Bellamy to Washington to film one scene, and to restage air crashes in Yugoslavia.
Seeing footage of Curtis directing troops of crew and extras in Yugoslavia bare-chested, sweating, with medallion, with a perm, it's like a mad genius in action.George Whitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03894384665762504898noreply@blogger.com
